Sticks and rounds that mean the world

Petty day.

The story is simple.

Tomorrow is the D-Day in France where we celebrate the landing of the Allies on Normandy’s beaches leading to the defeat of the Third Reich. Like every year, emotional and official ceremonies will take place in Normandy itself with the heads of the countries who were the Allies (all English speaking and/or in the Commonwealth but for France).

Well almost all the leaders actually because Nicolas Sarkozy is now officially the biggest arsehole in the history of France after Pétain.

Sarkozy belongs to this right-wing breed of politicians we called "American dogs". He’s desperate to become America’s right arm and that was quite easy with a man like George W. Bush because they shared the same visions and politics so all he had to do was to come and fawn all over him and wait to be petted.

But now it’s Obama and it’s slighty more difficult (ie: impossible) to do so because Obama knows where Sarkozy is standing. He knows Sarkozy truly believes George W. Bush was a great man and he knows that the French President now wants to meet him to fake it, to fawn as well and tell him how wonderful he is. So basically, Obama doesn’t give a toss.

So Sarkozy came up with a plan. He learned his lesson after the last G-20 summit where Obama talked to everyone but him. So he decided to invite Washington but no one else for the D-Day. This way, he can have him for himself.

But it went terribly wrong because Washington unofficially complained to Paris through no-diplomatic channels about the Queen not being invited to the ceremony. They tried to avoid a major crisis and call for Sarkozy to fix the problem. But before he could act on it, he was asked by journalists why was the Queen not invited to the ceremonies.

He could’ve said the truth but no. In a pathetic attempt to hide it, he said: “The D-Day is a Franco-American matter. The Queen can come later”.

The Queen is actually the only one among all the heads of states to have known and lived the WWII. She was there. She was in London, she was working as a mechanic for the British Army under the bombs because she refused to leave her people who was scarifying so much to save the world from Hitler.

The United Kingdom was the one and only country in Europe who never collaborated in any way with Hitler, never surrendered anywhere in the world against him. It sheltered all the governments and resistances from Europe, gave them money, weapons and supported them until the end. Without Britain, the D-Day would have never existed. It was possible because that small island was here, so close to the Third Reich, resisting against a whole Europe who was now serving Hitler, and could be used as a giant training and stocking base for the Allies armies.

And their Queen doesn’t get invited at the D-Day because Sarkozy decided to rewrite history and use the sacrifice of hundreds of thousands of men for its own interests?!

This is the pettiest, most appalling, ludicrous, pathetic, outrageous behaviour I have ever witnessed from a head of state in my life!

The only good side in all of this is that he wanted to be alone with Obama who now actually won’t have dinner with him privately but will spent a night with his family.

And Sarkozy will now have to entertain all the people he didn’t want but was forced to invite to avoid a huge diplomatic crisis: Prince Charles and Camilla, Gordon Brown, the Prime Minister of Canada and Australia, the Head of Quebec and officials from India and many other countries that were Allies because they have been in the Commonwealth.

…and that’s country music! Holy Hell, help us all!

Last month, in an outrageous orgy of self congratulation and self-righteousness, America send a message to the world: “That’s it, the world is saved. Thanks to almighty us” And I was told I should be grateful America finally came to her/his/its – or whatever! – senses after almost ten years and decided to elect someone else that a moronic, boorish, intolerant and religiously (protestant) extremist mama’s boy who’s solely driven by his own interests and the ones of those who openly and shamelessly pour money in his pocket. Not to mention the childish burning desire to prove his father wrong: “Dad, I’m not a hopeless coward loser!”

“The world is saved, a new era’s begun. No more Bush, no more ignorance, no more lies and secrets…” as we were told here in Europe by those from the other side of the Atlantic. CBS got even further claiming that Obama was like Maria Theresa. That he was like Jesus Christ!

Well, actually nothing has changed. In the middle of this week, judges in England came in position of the most obvious pieces of evidence of torture from Guantanamo Bay prisons. According to the laws of the democracy and motherland of modern justice that is England, laws of the European Union, all the Geneva Conventions we Europeans all signed and according the Human Rights we are relentlessly fighting for, a judge must make these pieces of evidence public.

It’s not just a little game, we spent the last 90 years doing everything we could in Europe to follow our democratic ideal and make torture disappear (altogether!) thus force anyone in position of evidence to come forward.

Well, few hours after Hilary Clinton praised the rebirth of the special relationship opening that so-called new era of the saved world, those same judges were told to literally shut the fuck up after the United States threatened the United Kingdom to make the whole intelligence cooperation come to an end if they kept going with their revelations.

That’s where the matter is.

Obama was not elected because America cares about the world. He’s here because suddenly Americans woke up facing the consequences of their actions in the world after they started to undermine their everyday way of life and they got scared. He’s not here to save the world but to actually make the world so that America can rise again from the crisis. “Change we need” is not for us or anything but just for them.

It’s normal after all when you really think about it. Despite most of Americans thinking of themselves as living in the Promise Land, in spite of them not being able to describe anything that’s not related to their everyday life and thinking they are the world, Obama was not elected President of the World but President of the United States.

So why am I supposed to be grateful for anything?

We were said that things would change. But they won’t. Not for us, not for the world. Just for them so I have nothing to be grateful for because we, “the allies”, “the friends” (more the dogs, I have to say) are in the exact same position as we were with Bush.

For America, we are the followers. And unfortunately our leaders (from Britain, France now, Italy, Eastern Europe) are far too scare and have this dreadful lack of back bone to do anything else than being the followers. And when you’re a follower – “friend” for those who love politically correct - you can’t open your mouth without asking or you well get the stick. You can if you have a good master. But America is not a good master.

America is a bad master because it is nothing but a twelve year old bully from the schoolyard whose idea of power and strength is to beat the hell out of everyone and everything that gets on its way. And whose idea of friends is people who are solely frightened servants who learn to shut up if they want to remain in the group.

America’s so sunk into its over-confidence for it believes everything it does is for the right cause that Americans don’t even realise they are exactly like their worst enemies and don’t hesitate threatening their friends of retaliation if they dare speaking up a bit. Exactly like USSR used to do with its “sister republics”, Russia now with its former “allies”, China with Tibet…countries they assume to be under their domination. And just like all those former USSR republics, we are living under a ever-growing loath of that master and longing for the day we will finally get rid of it.

And America doesn’t realise that either. I have a childhood best friend who’s American and through her I met so many people who can’t even believe anyone can hate them! For them, 9/11 was not just a shock because of the death and the scale of destruction, they were baffled: “How can the world do that to us?”

They genuinely did not understand because they were brought up believe so deeply that every moves, not matter how horrendous and murderous they might be, are always justified and for the good of the world, that America is utterly unquestionable.

That’s exactly what happened this week: How come Britain dares to question the goodwill of the United States while they’ve been sacrifying so much for the good of Humanity?

But that’s torture we are talking about. Elizabeth I was quite amazed how any man could confess to anything under torture. Torture me and I’ll give you anything!

I know most Americans will use this opportunity to remind me that I’m French so they’re not surprised. I am one the “losers”, the softies who don’t know what it takes to fight. And that I should be grateful no matter what because “if it wasn’t for America, I’ll be speaking German”.

Well let me answer that if I wasn’t for France and Lafayette, America would still be British! And that France is actually the country which has the best victory record in the entire world throughout history. But I’m not surprised a country that labels everything prior to the Continental Congress as “pre-historical” doesn’t take that into account.

And there is now the major difference between Europe and America.

Rumsfeld, who turned out to be the biggest lying sack of sh!t of them all, was very proud after he labelled Europe as the “old ancient world” whose time was over. He was so happy with his newly found insult that it didn’t even realise we took it as a compliment. It’s exactly like parents looking at their teenage girl who’s turning violent and reckless calling them ‘boring and overdue’. We just answer: “Whatever you need to tell yourself, dear. But we were you once so we know what we are talking about”

All of that rant to say once again America allowed the terrorists, the enemies of free democratic regimes to record a brilliant victory. Without even lifting a finger, they managed to make us betray ourselves, deny who we truly are and fighting to protect. They managed to have Washington make democracy go through huge set back and set us a step further to dictatorship in the name of that very democracy, freedom and Liberty.

That’s exactly how we’ve always seen it and how we’ve always imagined those kind of things in the middle of american cities: dreadful and inhuman!


Here’s one of the busiest cross sections in France.

The "Roquencourt triangle" where the whole Western Paris suburb gather (coming South) every morning and evening to commute to and from Paris (going East) or Normandy (going West) for some nice times by the sea.
That remains inhuman when you’re stuck every day like an ant at the exit of the colony but it’s not as dreadful and in the middle of the city as it is over the Atlantic.


Well here’s a cross section in the city of Minden, Germany.

Yes! We have sometimes canals going over others through some water bridges but the Germans are probably the only one the world to have come up with canal cross sections where boats can go for canals to canals in one very place.

For me, that's the very best of England: Reading the summary I really can't figure what this article is about!

I know that's politics but i don't feel the whole article is just a big medley attempting to synthesise a thousands of informations which all deny each other making a subject that could've been clear completely opaque.

I wanted to capture the entire page but there were some pictures of poor Palestinian children covered in blood with titles like Welcome to Hell: the unending misery of Gaza :-/

I really wonder how would Israel manage to go on making us believe they only are wishful thinking victims exercising their right to self-defense when they are falling on and slaughtering poor civilians? Honestly...

One thing's for sure, every people over there are victims of the Western countries being to coward to act upon the mess they created. It's easier to let both sides getting their hands covered in blood and coming all peace-wanting than actually doing something useful and taking strong impartial actions.
